Nursing Assistant

Responsibilities : The patient population is dynamic and complex providing opportunities for nursing staff to experience a vast amount of diagnosis and hone assessment skills. Major duties include personal patient care including bathing, feeding, grooming, and mobilizing with demonstration of skills which reflect the needs of the older adult. Appropriate support duties include individualized patient care, proper implementation of policies and procedures, use of good body mechanics, and assists in application and operation of specialized functional equipment. Supports duties for treatment services, such as specimen collection. Provides veteran centric care according to the individualized care plan. Work schedule : Full-time on 1st shift / days, 0730-1600, with shift rotation and federal holiday and weekend rotation required also.
Requirements : You must be a U.S. citizen to apply for this job. Must pass pre-employment physical examination. Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
Qualifications : Basic requirements include United States citizenship, English language proficiency, and education or training. In addition to meeting the basic requirements, you must meet the following grade requirements : GS-3 level : None beyond the basic requirements. GS-4 level : Experience or education as described. GS-5 level : Experience or education as described. Knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) are required for each level.
Physical Requirements : Walking, bending, stooping, and lifting in the direct care of patients; some extended periods of sitting and / or standing.
