Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Senior Director of Marketing to serve as Berkshire Greys head of marketing. This individual will lead all facets of marketing including brand strategy, demand generation, account-based marketing (ABM), content and digital marketing, website management, and events to position Berkshire Grey as a category leader in robotic automation for sortation, item picking, and trailer unload.
The successful candidate will ensure Berkshire Greys brand and digital presence highlight what matters most to customers : our Products and Solutions and the value they deliver, not just the technology behind them.
This is a player-coach role ideal for a marketing leader who thrives on both strategy and execution. Someone who rolls up their sleeves to write, review, optimize, and measure marketing activities firsthand. If you prefer to delegate, this is not the right fit.
This marketing leader will play a pivotal role in driving top-of-funnel activity and generating qualified leads that fuel the Sales teams pipeline. They will lead a team of 45 professionals and collaborate closely with Sales, Customer Success, Engineering, and Executive Leadership to deliver measurable growth and market impact.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Brand Stewardship
- Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with Berkshire Greys commercial and growth goals.
- Strengthen the companys brand positioning, messaging, and visual identity focusing on customer outcomes, Products, and Solutions.
- Ensure the company website effectively communicates Berkshire Greys market position and showcases how our Products and Solutions create real-world value.
- Serve as the brand guardian across all communications and channels to ensure consistency, clarity, and alignment.
Demand Generation, ABM & Pipeline Acceleration
Design and lead integrated demand generation programs that drive top-of-funnel awareness, engagement, and qualified leads for the Sales team.Incorporate Account-Based Marketing (ABM) strategies to target and nurture key enterprise accounts.Build and manage data-driven campaigns using Salesforce and marketing automation tools to target verticals and strategic prospects.Partner closely with Sales leadership to ensure seamless lead management, pipeline visibility, and shared performance metrics.Track and analyze marketing performance using KPIs tied to pipeline contribution, conversion rates, and revenue impact.Content, Messaging & Thought Leadership
Develop compelling content that communicates Berkshire Greys value proposition including case studies, videos, white papers, and customer stories.Position Berkshire Grey as a thought leader in robotic automation and AI-enabled supply chain transformation.Drive public relations, executive visibility, and media engagement that reinforces Berkshire Greys leadership position in the market.Digital & Website Ownership
Own the strategy, direction, and evolution of Berkshire Greys website to ensure it effectively supports lead generation and customer engagement.Focus on storytelling around Products and Solutions, emphasizing customer value, ROI, and competitive differentiation.Oversee digital analytics, SEO, and conversion optimization to improve engagement and conversion performance.Events & Tradeshows
Lead the planning and execution of major tradeshows, customer events, and industry conferences.Ensure events deliver consistent brand representation and measurable results tied to business development goals.Team Leadership & Collaboration
Manage, mentor, and scale a high-performing marketing team of 45 professionals across brand, digital, content, and demand generation functions.Work cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Success, and Engineering to align marketing initiatives with go-to-market priorities.Serve as a key member of the Go-To-Market leadership team, reporting directly to the Chief Commercial Officer.Required Qualifications
12+ years of progressive B2B marketing experience, including 5+ years in a senior leadership capacity.Proven success leading marketing strategy and execution for technology or industrial automation companies.Strong experience driving top-of-funnel demand generation and ABM programs that directly support Sales pipeline growth.Expertise in Salesforce CRM and marketing automation platforms; ability to use data to track and optimize lead flow and conversion.Exceptional communication, storytelling, and leadership skills.Demonstrated ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.Experience managing and developing high-performing marketing teams.Preferred Qualifications
Experience in robotics, automation, AI, or supply chain technology industries.Background in marketing to Fortune 100 or other large enterprise customers.Familiarity with digital analytics, SEO, and modern marketing tech stacks (Marketo, Pardot, Google Analytics, etc.).Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications, or Business.What We Offer
