What You Can Expect
As a key leader within the Global Operations PMO, the Project Management Associate Director provides both strategic and tactical leadership for medium and large-scale global operations transformation initiatives. This role willpartner with the PMO Director to oversee the Global Operations Project Portfolio ensuring consistent project coordination, execution, delivery reporting, and alignment with organizational objectives. This role supports the business in identifying, developing, resourcing, and delivering high-quality products on time and within scope.
The Associate Director serves as a role model for project management excellence, leads by example, and guides project teams through all project phases and related project activities including the following : scope and requirements definition, schedule and budget planning, design and development, testing and validation, stakeholder communication, risk and issue management, governance reporting, and change management. In addition to leading projects, the Associate Director acts as a coach to project managers across the organization fostering PM capability development, promotes organizational learning, and shares project management best practices and tools.
The Associate Director is expected to champion a culture of transformation and continuous improvement, foster strong cross-functional collaboration, and provide training to project participants and business partners on project management methodologies, tools, and practices to instill consistent project delivery processes.
This position is responsible for ensuring that all project plans and execution activities align with Zimmer Biomet's strategic objectives, while upholding the highest standards of ethics and compliance.
How You'll Create Impact
- Responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing medium to large scale projects to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and aligned with organizational goals,
- Coordinate cross-functional delivery teams; manage project resources, risks, and issues; and communicate to key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project team leaders, team members, and contractors influencing them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
- Responsible for the achievement of project milestones and metrics for projects assigned by the PMO Director.
- Support the PMO director in the establishment of consistent processes for monitoring and reporting the Global Operations project delivery portfolio KPIs.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement using data-driven insights and stakeholder feedback, and influences actions that accelerate project delivery.
- Enable the project portfolio management process by collecting and analyzing data to effectively prioritize and select projects based upon optimal value.
- Coach project managers and project team members in the use of project delivery methods and tools, building delivery capability, and improving delivery outcomes.
- Collaborate with the PMO Director to assess project resource needs and to support strategic PMO planning, PMO capability building, and PMO delivery goals.
- Ensure compliance with PMO methodologies and regulatory requirements.
- Continuously improve project delivery methods, practices, and tools leading to better project delivery outcomes for Global Operations.
- Develop and implement best practices and tools for project execution and management.

Bachelor's Degree (Master's Degree, MBA preferred) in Manufacturing, Engineering, Industrial Psychology, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.Minimum six years of related project management / project delivery experience required.Project management certification (such as PMP) or formal training required.Six Sigma or Lean Sigma certification preferred.Extensive manufacturing operations experience required.Proven success leading and influencing project / program delivery within a global culture and matrixed environment.Experience leading multiple cross-functional and inter-site project teams at one time within operations with results-oriented performance.Proficiency in project management software (Smartsheets, MS Project, Planview PPM, or similar) and MS Office applications.Experience in medical device or other regulated environments preferred.Travel Expectations
