Job Summary
We are seeking a Fiber Optic and Telecommunications Systems Integration Engineer to join our team. This role will be responsible for the planning, design, installation, and integration of complex telecommunications systems for commercial clients. The successful candidate will have proven experience in fiber optic installation, structured cabling, VoIP systems, and IT network configuration. This position requires both technical fieldwork and client-facing communication to ensure that solutions meet each customer's operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, and test fiber optic cables, copper cabling, and structured wiring systems.
- Design and integrate telecommunications networks, including VoIP phone systems, routers, and switches.
- Conduct site surveys and develop technical project specifications in compliance with BICSI and industry standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network and telecom system issues for commercial clients.
- Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Provide training and technical guidance to clients on system functionality and best practices.
- Maintain detailed records of installations, service calls, and maintenance activities.
- Ensure safety compliance and quality assurance during all project phases.
Qualifications
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Information Technology, or related technical field.Minimum of 3–5 years' hands-on experience with fiber optic cabling, data networks, and VoIP systems.Certifications such as BICSI, FOA (Fiber Optic Association), CompTIA Network+, or Cisco.Knowledge of network security principles and structured cabling standards.Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and wiring schematics.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in field environments.Excellent interpersonal and client service skills.Valid driver's license and ability to travel regionally for project assignments.J-18808-Ljbffr
