Join a financially stable, high-value industrial operation with strong brand recognition and proven resilience in all economic conditions. We’re seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer / Manager to lead engineering and reliability initiatives at our flagship Detroit facility.

This is a high-impact leadership opportunity offering a clear path to promotion — step into the Maintenance & Reliability Superintendent role within 6–12 months.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you’ll design, modify, and optimize electrical and mechanical systems to improve equipment reliability and plant performance. You’ll lead the site’s maintenance strategy, oversee capital projects, and drive continuous improvement across all production systems.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze recurring equipment issues and implement long-term corrective actions to minimize downtime.

Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to improve equipment utilization.

Supervise contractors and ensure adherence to EHS and MSHA regulations.

Design and modify plant equipment using appropriate engineering tools and software.

Lead capital and expense projects — from scope development through commissioning and closeout.

Collaborate closely with operations and reliability teams to enhance system performance.

Support implementation of Electrical / Mechanical PM and PdM programs.

Stay current on technological advancements and maintenance best practices.

Requirements

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering.

5–15 years of experience in maintenance reliability and high-voltage systems.

Strong background in heavy industrial or manufacturing environments (non-automotive preferred).

Advanced knowledge of electronics, PLCs, mechanical, and automation systems .

Experience with medium to high voltage systems (up to 1200 volts preferred) .

Familiarity with mining laws, ventilation systems, and shaft maintenance is a plus.

Reliability certification and CMMS experience highly desirable.

Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in outdoor and underground environments.

Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder (no sponsorship available).

Additional Details

Heavy industrial experience required (not automotive).

Must be comfortable working underground and leading cross-functional teams.

Willingness to work a minimum of 55 hours per week , including every other Saturday (typically off by 12 : 00 p.m.).
