Multi-Craft Plumber

At Cherokee Millwright, we are a company that focuses on the needs of our customers by providing multi-trades personnel to meet the customer's unique job requests. Therefore, all field employees will be cross-trained in various trades such as millwrighting, pipefitting, welding, sheet metal, civil, etc. The focus of this position will be responsible for assembling, installing, or repairing pipes, fittings, or fixtures of heating, water or drainage systems. However, it will not be entirely set to this specific skillset.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for the assembly, installation and repair of plumbing, water flow and drainage systems in accordance with city, state, and federal plumbing codes.
• Must have knowledge of working with copper, galvanized, soldering, stainless, PVC Pipe etc.
• This may include everything from digging trenches for new pipeline to installing new hardware for faucets, showers and toilets in commercial buildings and industrial facilities.
• Additional skills in other crafts will be necessary to meet our customers need and will be expected in this role.

No Supervision

Education and / or Experience

High School diploma or related experience; and Two years of experience in the trade.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and / or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and / or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
