Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in manufacturing processes and engineering principles, with a focus on continuous improvement and efficiency. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to enhance production capabilities, ensure quality standards, and implement innovative solutions within our manufacturing facility.
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify issues in production and implement corrective actions.
- Utilize CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Creo for designing and modifying schematics and tooling.
- Program and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and robotics for automated systems.
- Oversee plastics injection molding processes, ensuring quality control and adherence to specifications.
- Collaborate with the assembly line team to enhance workflow and productivity.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles to streamline operations and reduce costs.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives, utilizing methodologies such as GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and CAM programming.
- Provide mechanical knowledge for the fabrication of components and tooling used in production.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards throughout the manufacturing process.
Essential Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.Proven experience in a manufacturing environment with factory experience preferred.Strong knowledge of CNC programming, welding techniques, and vision inspection systems.Familiarity with industrial equipment maintenance and operation.Experience in project scheduling and managing multiple tasks effectively.Proficiency in robot programming for automation applications.Understanding of mechanical engineering principles related to assembly line operations.Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Proficiency in CNC programming, lathe, Okuma, and Edgecam.Experience in machining and tool design.Comfortable working in a foundry environment as needed.Work Environment
This role is based in a machine shop and foundry environment. You'll be part of a small, tightly-knit team, working in multiple functions as required.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Peoria, Illinois.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00 / hr.
