The Position
This position will interact on a global basis with all laboratories (Referral Laboratories, Local Laboratories, CCLS Labs, Labcorp Labs), Project Management, IT, Sourcing, Sales, NSSO, Commercial Development, QA, Medical Affairs, Purchasing, SMART, Data Management and Result Reporting departments.
This position will be remotely based in the United States and is an individual contributor role.
About the Job
The External Associate Lab Manager position requires the ability to work in global virtual team on the tasks relative to the development and management of all external laboratories (Local Labs, Referral Labs) Labcorp Drug Development is working with.
Responsible for managing the overall current process of the referral laboratories by researching potential referral laboratories based on the assay requests, contacting referral laboratories, negotiating services, and acting as the liaison for operational issues / needs of the customer.
For awarded testing, contact and completes the referral laboratory worksheets and obtains the appropriate technical information needed to load the database, including but not limited to specimen collection requirements, reference ranges, turn around time, and regulatory requirements such as Research Use Only assays.
Recipient of notification of changes in assays such as method changes from the referral laboratories. Updates referral laboratory worksheets and notifies WLOS of the modification.
Provide support to CAIR / Reportable Issues pertaining to External laboratories, obtaining root cause and preventative actions from the referral laboratory or inside ELMS.
Facilitates technical discussions with appropriate staff at the referral laboratories, Medical Affairs, Global Heads of CCLS, Scientists of CCLS, Project Management and / or Sponsor as needed to appropriately understand the client needs and the service capability of the referral laboratory.
Acts as the primary resource for ELMS topics.
Provide some support to the APH Program Manager for Histology testing that we send material outside Covance CLS.
Accountable for the reporting of internal performance metrics and take corrective actions when appropriate.
Responsible for maintaining his / her complete up-to-date training file. Individual is responsible for ensuring he / she is trained and training is documented prior to performing a task. Individual is accountable for any deficiencies found in his / her training file.
Provides technical information, both written and verbal, to Marketing, Sales, Sourcing, Project Management, WLOS and internal Covance CLS personnel.
Day to day management of assigned external labs
In case of Centerlinx knowledge : be responsible for the global management of assigned Centerlinx studies for which results are reported in Zavacor. This includes day to day management of the Centerlinx part of the studies (point of contact in case of problems for departments such as (but not limited to) Investigator Support, Specimen Management, the lab; follow up on pendings as well in Centerlinx as in Zavacor; work with the applicable teams in case of study amendments, organize shipments of samples etc). It also includes cleaning of the study for locks (limited to the tests reported via Centerlinx - data reconciliation between Centerlinx and Zavacor), and close out of the Centerlinx part of the studies (this includes actions like checking if all documentation is in place, all issues and holds are resolved, sites are closed out, all samples in storage have been shipped or archived etc). Also working on resolution for billing issues (for activities related to Centerlinx) falls within the scope. Throughout the life time of the study there is also close contact with the partnering Zavacor study teams.

Bachelor in scientific field
Knowledge of Centerlinx is seen as an added value
Experience within project management
Good in establishing work relationships with external parties
Good knowledge on Excel (functions like VLOOKUP, Concatenate, etc)
Stress resistant, solution minded and accurate
Fluency in English

Pay Range : $65,000 - $85,000
All job offers will be based on a candidate's skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees / certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
