Firefighter Recruit
The County of Hawai`i is seeking a Firefighter Recruit to fill anticipated vacancies in 2026. The position involves attending training classes and receiving instruction in firefighting and rescue work; performing firefighting and rescue tasks under immediate supervision; and other related duties as required. Special working conditions include irregular hours, shift and weekend work, and exposure to hazardous and obnoxious conditions.
Minimum qualification requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, satisfactory completion of an English 100 and Health 125 course from an accredited institution, or equivalent coursework. A valid State of Hawai`i driver's license is also required. Additional licenses and certificates may be required prior to the completion of the probation period.
