Electrical Proposal Engineer - Plymouth, Michigan

Responsibilities

  • Generate sales proposals including drawings (initial concept), technical specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Ensure customer requests are satisfied in the sales proposal; attend customer meetings and conference calls as required.
  • Review contracts before order acceptance.
  • Act as the liaison between engineering and sales departments to ensure project success.
  • Review sales information to determine if sufficient data exists to prepare a proposal.
  • Distribute sales requests to other departments as required.
  • Set up and track all sales requests properly.
  • Evaluate performance against tracking log with metric analysis.
  • Report status of engineering sales requests to the sales team.
  • Balance workload with various deliverables and due dates.
  • Work safely using all available safety equipment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Possess mental faculties consistent with performing the minimum requirements of the job.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechatronics engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in the design of electrical and / or electromechanical systems.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience with integration of machine control systems, data acquisition systems, and / or PLC control logic.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Technical field experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of practical application of engineering science and technology, including principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment for design and production.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • AutoCAD (or equivalent) knowledge.
  • Ability to prepare complex written reports and other documentation.
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk.
  • Ability to speak verbally and read in English.
  • Ability to see with corrective lenses.
  • Ability to hear.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to use a computer.
  • Ability to work evenings and / or weekends as required.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% domestically.
