• Position Overview :
• We are seeking a skilled welder / fabricator to join our team supporting shipyard and marine repair projects. This role requires experience in both fabrication and welding and proficiency in welding aluminum and mild steel, with demonstrated ability using dual-shield flux core processes. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of hands-on experience in welding and fabrication with a marine or industrial setting.
• Key Responsibilities :
• Perform welding and fabrication on aluminum and mild steel components for vessels and marine structures.
• Utilize welding techniques including dual-shield flux core, MIG, and TIG as required.
• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
• Measure, cut, fit, and assemble metal parts for ship repair and new fabrication.
• Conduct quality checks to ensure welds meet industry and company standards.
• Operate tools and equipment related to the job, including forklifts, hoists, slings, press brakes, shear machine, hydraulic rolls.
• Collaborate with other departments (mechanical, electrical, coatings) to complete projects on time.
• Follow all company safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
• Perform work in various locations such as confined spaces, heights, indoor / outdoor environments with exposure to changing weather conditions.
• Maintain a positive attitude and professionalism toward workers, subcontractors, and clients.
• Qualifications :
• Minimum 3+ years welding and fabrication experience (shipyard or similar environment preferred).
• Proficiency in welding aluminum and mild steel.
• Skilled in dual-shield flux core welding processes.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Must be able to pass welding tests as required.
• Ability to work in physically demanding conditions, including lifting, standing, and working in confined spaces.
