Overview

An established, employee-owned transportation engineering firm is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join its growing team. This leadership-focused role is ideal for entrepreneurial professionals ready to manage a diverse portfolio of bridge and structural design projects across a wide range of transportation systems.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of both current and future projects, serving as a technical lead, project manager, and client liaison.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead design of bridge and structural projects, ranging from small drainage structures to large multi-span bridges.
• Prepare designs for concrete and steel girder bridges; rail structure experience is a plus.
• Serve as a senior project engineer and primary client point of contact.
• Participate in project interviews, client meetings, and public presentations.
• Provide construction support, including submittal reviews, responses to RFIs, and site visits.
• Develop scopes, budgets, schedules, and contribute to marketing strategies.
• Lead the preparation of proposals, reports, specifications, plans, and structural designs.
• Ensure compliance with internal quality systems and project standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and assist with workload forecasting and team planning.

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (required)
• Master's degree preferred

Experience:

• 10-15 years of experience in structural design, including bridges, retaining walls, foundations, and culverts
• Advanced proficiency with structural analysis and design software
• Strong knowledge of AASHTO standards
• Experience with transportation infrastructure design preferred

Certifications:

• Must hold a valid Professional Engineer (PE) license (or be eligible to obtain)
