Adult Psychiatrist Inpatient Corrections Locums Job in the Greater Los Angeles Area

Details / Requirements :

Adult inpatient coverage for 20-40 hours a week starting ASAP and ongoing. Some outpatient is possible too.

Client is currently looking for locum tenens Psychiatrists who will work 20-40 hours a week and will also work weekends and holidays on a schedule set by the Client.

Schedule TBD : They need doctors with more flexibility than just working Tues-Thurs, who can work Mondays, Fridays, weekends and holidays. They will agree upon a set schedule but after 2-3 months (possibly a lesser timeframe) they may need to change the doctor's scheduled depending on their need at the time and they want a doctor who is flexible to make periodic changes like this. They won't make such schedule changes overnight but will be reasonable about how much notice they give when adjustments need to be made.

Number of beds on each of the inpatient units fluctuates

Average length of stay for each unit : 14 days

Average daily census for each unit also fluctuates

Average daily caseload for each psychiatrist : 8-10

Medical physicals for the H&Ps for new admissions are done by primary care physicians

Average number of new admissions per day : fluctuates but shared with other doctors too

Average number of discharges per day : fluctuates and again, shared workload
