Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU assignment requiring a WI or compact RN license, with strong neuro assessment skills and Epic experience.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Position based in the Neuro ICU of a hospital setting
  • 8-bed unit with patients including stroke, traumatic brain injury, head injury, and neurosurgery cases
  • Will float between Neuro Critical Care ICU, MSICU, other critical care, and inpatient units as needed
  • 12-hour variable day and night shifts
  • Work schedule includes every other weekend and holiday
  • Uses Epic for charting and documentation
  • Experience with EVDs and ICP monitoring equipment required
  • Responsible for comprehensive neurological assessments and basic bedside ICU procedures
  • Potential to care for neuro interventional patients in the future
  • Must be hard-working, resilient, adaptable, and able to work independently
  • Any color scrubs are permitted
  • Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility
  • Holiday coverage is expected on an every-other basis
  • Traveler may be placed on call during low census hours

  • Active WI or compact RN license required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • NIHSS certification preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Med / Surg ICU or Neuro ICU with strong neuro assessment skills required
  • At least 1 prior travel assignment preferred
  • Experience with Epic EMR required
  • Ability to independently manage neuro-specific procedures such as bolt and drain bedside placements, line placement, and intubation
