Manager, Software Engineering (Identity Engineering)

Overview

Affirm Identity Engineering owns the systems responsible for onboarding all consumers and managing authentication and verification journeys across Affirm product surfaces. We are seeking a highly motivated manager to help build this team. The manager will guide the team through technical challenges, drive process improvements, and contribute to strategic initiatives to enhance customer conversion. This leadership role requires a blend of technical expertise and people leadership to own and deliver high-availability, low-latency systems on the critical paths for our products.

What you’ll do

• Build teams : Lead a high-performance identity engineering team with a culture of innovation, accountability, empathy and execution
• Collaborate : Work closely with peers across the organization on projects that turn opportunity into results
• Influence technical strategy : Collaborate with engineering and analytics teams to deliver a long-term technical roadmap meeting stakeholder and business needs
• Raise the bar : Maintain a high technical bar while improving quality standards and development processes
• Grow others : Coach and mentor team members, provide timely feedback, and create an environment where every engineer can grow in their career

What we look for

Pay Grade : P

Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range. Affirm focuses on a simple and transparent pay structure based on location, experience, and job-related skills. Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include equity, monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents).

USA base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT) per year : $225,000 - $275,000

USA base pay range (all other U.S. states) per year : $200,000 - $250,000

Affirm is remote-first : the majority of roles are remote and you can work from almost anywhere in the country of employment. Proximity-based roles may require occasional in-office work. A limited number of roles remain office-based due to job responsibilities.
