Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU position requiring 2+ years of PICU critical care experience and an active NJ or compact license.
Responsibilities
Work in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) with a 19-bed capacityPatient population includes critically ill pediatric patients; 1 : 2+ patient ratioFloat to Pediatrics and NICU as needed based on skills and hospital needsResponsible for performing care with Medtronic pacemakers, telemetry monitoring, BIPAP / CPAP, ventilators, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomiesEPIC is the charting system usedDay shift schedule : 3x12 hours, 7 : 00-19 : 30Work every other weekend (Saturday / Sunday)Provide specialized critical care to pediatric patients in a team settingFloat based on skills and census; patient ratios adjusted based on acuity and staffingMust be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays during the assignmentNavy blue scrubs requiredCompliance modules, including EPIC training, must be completed pre-startLocals are accepted at the same rateRequested time off must be submitted prior to booking and cannot include holiday time off for priority considerationCallouts and cancellations are strictly monitored; failure to comply may affect future eligibilityRequirements
Active NJ or Compact RN license required at time of considerationMinimum 2 years of PICU critical care experience required, with at least 1 year of documented cardiac experience strongly preferredCurrent BLS and PALS certifications required; NRP preferredDocumented experience with Medtronic pacemakers, telemetry, BIPAP / CPAP, ventilators, high flow nasal cannula, and trachs requiredExperience using EPIC EMR preferredFirst time travelers not acceptedMust provide recent referencesReturn staff must be separated from the RWJBH health system for at least 1 year before eligibilityBenefits
