Estimator / Senior Estimator

Join a top mid-sized general contractor known for their integrity of work, family-first culture, and community involvement. They specialize in commercial and multifamily construction and are looking for an estimator / senior estimator to join the team for the long haul, promoting into a leadership position within 5 years.

Job Description

• Review specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, bid strategy, and marketing presentations as requested.
• Prepare estimates by calculating complete takeoff of certain sections and reviewing vendor quotations.
• Review and incorporate historical data from prior projects as required.
• Interface with owner, architect / engineer, and / or subcontractors to provide accurate cost estimates.
• Prepare conceptual estimates as needed by our clients.
• Participate in plan review and estimating reviews for prospective projects.
• Understanding of construction specifications and blueprint reading.
• Responsible for soliciting subcontractors / suppliers to ensure proper coverage.
• Utilize and complete the subcontractor pre-qualification.
• Identify and distribute documents to interested bidders.
• Leadership during the design process through a design-assist process, value engineering opportunities, alternates and material replacements, new techniques / ideas / products, and subcontractor relationships.
• Lead efforts to secure long lead subcontractors and materials.
• Work with cities and municipalities to identify and procure required permits.
