Hospice Nurse Assistant
Augments the service of the licensed nurse by providing basic patient care services to the hospice patient.
Assists in the care of the hospice patient including activities of daily living (ADLs) such as, but not limited to, personal hygiene and grooming, bathing, feeding, repositioning, toileting, transfers and ambulation; household services essential to promote a clean, safe environment.
Obtain and record patient data such as, but not limited to, vital signs, pain levels.
Report findings outside parameters as noted on the assignment sheet or urgent / emergent conditions.
Completes appropriate records as required.
Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss and coordinate the patient plan of care.
Participates in required staff development activities and performance reviews.
Requirements :
High school graduate preferred.
Completion of state approved nursing assistant training program.
Current Board of Registry status required; Completed and cleared Idaho State background check.
Current BLS certification.
The completion of a minimum of 12 hours of hospice-specific training a year is required to continue employment in the hospice department.
