Responsibilities Position is in a hospital setting with Level 1 Trauma and teaching hospital designation Work on Med / Surg and Telemetry units with 20-36 beds per unit Day shifts are 12 hours, 7A-7P, with a 36-hour work week option Expectation to work 3 weekends over a 6-week schedule Required to work select holidays including either 11 / 27 or 11 / 28, 12 / 24 or 12 / 25, and 12 / 31 or 1 / 1 Patient ratios are 1 RN for 4-6 patients Travelers will float to all Med / Surg and Telemetry units as needed Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, and Philips monitors CNA, unit secretary, charge nurse, and resource nurse support available on units Phlebotomy primarily lab collect; RNs may draw from CVLs 24 / 7 respiratory therapy, hospitalist, and intensivist support on site Orientation consists of one day with modules followed by two days on unit Scrub color for RNs is navy blue Work environment is busy and team oriented First-time travelers are accepted for this position Free parking is available on campus, with optional paid deck parking Requirements Active GA or compact RN license required Minimum two years of recent Med / Surg Telemetry RN experience required BLS certification required Must pass EKG competency during onboarding ACLS certification preferred Experience with trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, and glucometer required Experience with insulin and heparin drips, titrating drips to heart rate required Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-631660.
