Savannah Technical College seeks part-time instructors for the Air Conditioning Technology program. The instructor will report to the Dean of Industrial Technology and will be based at the Savannah or Liberty Campus, but may be required to travel to other Savannah Technical College locations. The instructor is responsible for teaching students in classroom, laboratory, and construction environments. Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to
- Preparing lesson plans for classroom instruction
- Developing program syllabi, goals, and objectives
- Delivering instruction, performing live laboratory demonstrations, and assessing student progress
- Ensuring safety and security requirements are met in the classroom and laboratory area
- Requesting and maintaining supplies and equipment
- Maintaining program certification requirements, as appropriate
- Preparing and maintaining required documentation and administrative reports
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Air Conditioning Technology (OR) Five (5) years of documented work experience in the HVAC field.
- Current EPA Section 608 Certification required.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite of programs required.
- Must demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills along with computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Teaching experience at a secondary or postsecondary institution.
