The mission of UPRISING ADDICTION CENTER is to offer the highest quality and professional, Inpatient Detoxification, Residential Treatment, Partial Hospital Program (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), and Outpatient services.

This is accomplished thru the strict adherence to the highest ethical standards of care and policies and procedures set forth by the Louisiana Department of State of Health Services and the Joint Commission.

  • UPRISING ADDICTION CENTER employees are competent and responsible personnel who adhere to strict code of professional ethics which include but are not limited to the prohibition of fraternization with patients, exploitation of clients or any criminal behaviors.
  • UPRISING ADDICTION CENTER provides clients with accurate and complete information regarding the available services offered at UPRISING ADDICTION CENTER the program rules, regulations, goals and objectives of the programs offered.
  • Appropriate availability of alternative treatment modalities are made at any time before during or after treatment if they are requested or the clients needs are out of the scope of our practice.
  • UPRISING ADDICTION CENTER will ensure that discharge from treatment is conducted in accordance with sound and medically acceptable practice. The client will be assured of due process if the discharge is administrative in nature.
  • UPRISING ADDICTION CENTER provides a safe and clean environment for patients and staff that are conducive to the therapeutic process of Healthy Recovery.
  • UPRISING ADDICTION CENTER will take all necessary and appropriate measures to maintain individual client records and information in a confidential and professional manner.
  • UPRISING ADDICTION CENTER strives to maintain positive relations with the surrounding community and pursues every reasonable action to encourage responsible client behaviors and community safety.

JOB SUMMARY

The Clinical Psychologist is a member of the healthcare team who works in collaboration with other staff to provide comprehensive psychological services to patients through assessment. The role of this provider is to, under the general supervision of the medical director or other physician, assess, maintain, and improve the individual and collective health status of individuals with alcohol and substance use disorders.

Age of Patient Population Served: Adult (18 & older)

Population Served: Persons with alcohol or substance abuse disorders with or without co-occurring psychiatric illness

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  1. Knowledge of industry standards: organization, theory, principles, and research processes, quality improvement and change management techniques, accreditation and regulatory standards, ability to assess clinical care requirements based on medical, basic psychotherapeutic, and human development principles, scope of practice, and regulatory standards.
  2. Obtain medical histories; renders admitting diagnoses through assessment processes. Conducts psychological assessments such as the MMPI and assess for ADHD.
  3. Complete medical progress note after encounter with client.
  4. Prepare psychological evaluation for the professionals program.
  5. Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely medical records about each patient, including observations during examinations.
  6. Comply with all laws applicable to internal medicine, including HIPAA
  7. Participate in staff outreach and off-site health care programs in the UPRISING ADDICTION CENTER service area as assigned by the Medical Director.
  8. Assist in updating protocols and principles of practice as requested.



MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS



Education, Training, and Experience Required:



  1. Education: Doctorate Degree is required.
  2. Experience: 3 years work experience is preferred.
  3. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR)
  4. LSBEP License
  5. ACLS or Advanced Life Support within 12 months of employment, if appropriate


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Knowledge of industry standards: organization, theory, principles, and research processes, quality improvement and change management techniques, financial analysis, budget process and planning, accreditation and regulatory standards, strategic planning principles, ability to assess nursing care requirements based on nursing principles, scope of practice, and regulatory standards.
  2. Knowledge of medications, indications, dosage ranges, side effects, and potential toxicity.
  3. Knowledge of PC software programs, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
  4. Accurately and timely enters clinical documentation using electronic medical records (EMR) software.
  5. Written and oral communication skills; must be able to concentrate on work amid distractions such as noise, conversations and foot traffic.
  6. Must maintain self-control in volatile or hostile situations such as when verbally or physically confronted in an aggressive manner.
  7. Must be able to work independently with little supervision in an unstructured environment with multiple demands.
  8. Reading and writing level that can clearly express or understand complex concepts, assessments, directions and processes or sequences of events.
  9. Ability to represent the program well in interactions both inside and outside the facility.
  10. Working knowledge of (American Society of Addiction Medicine) ASAM criteria and dual diagnosis clients.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee/provider is occasionally required to stand or sit for extended periods of time. The employee/provider must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

The job requires frequent contact with water (hand washing and cleaning) and working with body fluid and hazardous chemicals. When under these working conditions, OSHA standards and universal precautions must be followed at all times.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee/provider must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal to high volumes of stress.
