Job Summary

The Accessibility Specialist assists the Director of Access & Neurodiverse Student Success in managing all elements of the Institutes support of students with disabilities. The Specialist will obtain and organize required documentation from students requesting an accommodation and will assist the Director in approving and arranging for their execution.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associates Degree in relevant field
• Three (3) or more years related experience

3 or more years of related experience preferred in higher education disability services case management and or medical records

Relevant combinations of education training and experience may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in relevant field
• Professional experience in a higher education setting working to support the following:
  • Disability services
  • Case management
  • Medical records management

Minimum Knowledge Skills and Abilities

• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft and ability to learn job specific software and technology
• Ability to prioritize plan and organize
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to compose routine correspondence and reports
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet established goals and objectives
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies
• Ability to assesses situations consider alternatives and chooses appropriate course of action

Preferred Knowledge Skill and Abilities

• Knowledge of Americans with Disability Act (ADA)
• Knowledge of 504/IEP

Starting Salary/Rate

Expected hiring range: $23.00 - $27.00 / hr
