As an Occupational Therapist, here’s a big-picture view of what you’ll do:

• Provide occupational therapy to patients unable to perform daily tasks due to an illness or injury in nursing homes, rehab centers, assisted living facilities, clinics and hospitals Work with a team of Physicians, Nurses, CNAs , PTs and STs to provide excellent patient care.
  Assist physician in evaluation of patient function, deficits, fall risks and adaptive equipment needs Assess patient, establish therapy goals, document progress and modify therapy as needed Assist patient with exercises to improve fine motor skills and coordination Educate patients and family on established goals, exercises, safety and self-care

A few must-haves for Occupational Therapists:

Graduate of an Accredited Occupational Therapy Program and active OT license in Florida.
Minimum of 2 years of Occupational Therapy experience in a medical facility CPR certification and AHCA level 2 experience https://info.flclearinghouse.com.
Knowledge of state and federal healthcare laws and regulations.
Good clinical judgment, strong interpersonal skills, resourceful and compassionate.
