The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Division of Medicaid, Bureau of Contracting is seeking a Contracting Bureau Chief to join our team!

The Contracting Bureau Chief oversees operations related to procurement and execution of service agreements including contract development, implementation, and monitoring for Iowa Medicaid services including managed care contracts, professional services contracts, provider agreements for specialty payments, data sharing, and operational contracts. The Contracting Bureau Chief is responsible for contracting operations including, but not limited to, development of requests for proposals (RFPs), issuing RFPs, evaluation of RFPs, awarding RFPs, development, negotiation and execution of contracts, and contract monitoring.

Key leadership in the following :

• Represents Medicaid in meetings with internal and external stakeholders involved in shaping and changing Medicaid policy to address and improve corporate and interdepartmental working relationships and organizational and process issues.
• Performs research, making presentations and developing or supervising the development of technical papers and contracts in order to assure that Medicaid policies and contractual agreements are understood by key policy makers and others.
• Promptly and accurately communicates information about all issues impacting the operation of the Bureau, including federal policies, changes in state law, stakeholder interests, and emerging trends, or concerns / issues identified by peers to leadership
