OVERVIEW : This role is responsible for ensuring the production assembly team is actively engaged to meet daily customer demand and production schedule. The Production Coordinator provides effective training for the assembly team and ensures safety and quality standards are always maintained. The Production Coordinator will plan and assign work, implement policies and procedures and recommend improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Ensure effective employee relations. Provide employee coaching and development. Resolve employee issues through problem resolution.
- Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Work to continuously improve in all areas.
- Execute and coordinate employee training to ensure that procedures are followed and meet all quality requirements.
- Correct problems or concerns with quality, processes, equipment, materials and labor.
- Update production metrics and facilitate regular team communication.
- Identify and coordinate continuous improvement efforts with Production Manager.
- Sustain and drive lean manufacturing and 5S activities.
- Participate as an active member of the production assembly team and assembles products.
- Provide leadership through a 30-day planning cycle.
- Perform accident investigations.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES :
Train, direct and appraise staff.Make daily schedules for proper manpower utilizationPlans and organize workload and staff assignments to achieve due dates for customer satisfaction.Issues written and oral instructions; assign duties and examines work for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies and procedures.COMPETENCIES :

Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & TRAINING :
Associates degree (A.A) or equivalent in Engineering from a two-year college or university and 2+ years of manufacturing / assembly experience, along with 2 years of supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES OR REGISTRATIONS :
Six Sigma Green or above, or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire.COMPUTER SKILLS :
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required.PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
The employee may frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch during shift. Employee will be required to regularly sit, use hand to finger, handle, feel and reach with hands and arms. Employee must be able to regularly lift and or move up to 50 lbs., occasionally lift or move 75 pounds.
