Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A school district in Dearborn, MI, is seeking qualified candidates for two full-time Special Education teaching positions at the middle school level. These contract roles span the current school year and require dedication to serving students with diverse learning needs.
Position 1 requires certification in English Language Arts (BA) or Language Arts (BX) if appropriately aligned with the grade band on the certificate, or Reading (BT). Additionally, candidates must hold at least one special education endorsement in Autism (SV), Cognitive Impairment (SA), Emotional Impairment (SE), or Learning Disabilities (SM).
Position 2 requires certification in Mathematics (EX), coupled with at least one of the following special education endorsements : Autism (SV), Cognitive Impairment (SA), Emotional Impairment (SE), or Learning Disabilities (SM).
Responsibilities include managing a full caseload of approximately 20 students and delivering a full course load of five classes. One of these may be co-taught, alongside an advisory class and a designated prep period. The typical workday runs from 8 : 05 a.m. to 3 : 05 p.m., totaling seven hours, acpanied by a 30-minute duty-free lunch. An additional 15 minutes of assigned before or after-school duty is required as directed by the principal.
