EPIC Early Learning is seeking a passionate Family Services Teacher to join our dedicated team in supporting children's development and enhancing the quality of early childhood education. With over 45 years of experience, EPIC is committed to providing nurturing and impactful educational experiences for children and families across Central Washington.
The Family Services Teacher works in collaboration with the Team Leader and Classroom Assistants to ensure the classroom provides an educational environment that is developmentally and linguistically appropriate. The person will promote parent involvement through collaborative partnerships which encourage the educational, social and emotional development of all Head Start families. Engage in regular communications with parents and children; provide education, information, and support using home visits, parent contacts, parent meetings and monthly newsletters. Ensure that all work is done in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards, USDA requirements, state licensing requirements and agency policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Teach daily in the classroom and assist with planning, assessments, and child observations.
- Administer developmental and health screenings.
- Promote child safety and well-being, including active supervision and emergency response.
- Support parent engagement through conferences, home visits, and classroom volunteering.
- Ensure cultural inclusivity and support for special needs.
- Assist families in obtaining required health and dental exams for children.
- Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to in-kind reporting.
- Participate in staff training, coaching, and center events.
- Step into Team Leader role as needed.
- Be committed to characterizing a culture of safety within our centers, playgrounds, buses and anywhere that children may be present. Be familiar with and encourage EPICs culture of “Speak Up, Speak Out”.
Requirements
Infant / Toddler ECE Certificate or equivalent & / or willingness to work towards AA in ECE.Childcare Basic 30 hours STARS training or educational exemption in MERIT.Two years or more classroom work experience in an Infant / Toddler setting.Demonstrated ability to work closely with other team members, ability to grasp a team-centered approach to the delivery of services for children and families.Pay rate : $21.62 to $25.51 per hour (full-time, year-round position)
