Security Officer, PRN
Job Preview
This position is responsible for observing and acting, within department guidelines, upon hazards and threats to the well-being and security of patients, residents, visitors, staff and properties or physical assets of the complex to ensure the reduction or elimination of threats and hazards. The hours are 6 : 30 pm to 6am, one night a week.
Responsibilities
- Perform random patrols of HMC campus and outlying properties and observes conditions.
- Performs random, alternating inside and outside security checks of HMC campus a minimum of three times per shift.
- Report to the appropriate parties any damages or unusual conditions that may cause a threat to the wellbeing of patients, residents, visitors, staff, or physical assets of the Complex.
- Respond to calls for assistance and determine a course of action to ensure security of patients, residents, visitors, staff, or physical assets of the Complex.
- Respond to alarms and take appropriate actions to ensure security of patients, residents, visitors, staff, or physical assets of the Complex.
- Assist with maintenance checks and limited EHS tasks.
- Escort employees to and from work areas as requested and time permits.
- Remove trash from administration and Daycare.
- Monitor video surveillance equipment.
- Initiate a "group page" as appropriate and assist complex units as needed.
- Change I.S. backup tapes on Saturdays and Sundays.
- Perform monthly fire extinguisher checks and document results.
- Appropriately, professionally, and thoroughly complete necessary reports and paperwork.
- Apply commonsense understanding carrying out instruction furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.
- Clearly write summaries of work done or findings of inspection.
- High school diploma or GED. Basic understanding of effective security practices and procedures.
Physical Demands
The employee is required to be able to stand; walk; maintain balance; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk, hear, smell.The employee must be able to push, pull and lift and / or move up to 100 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.Must be able lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.Compensation details : 17-18 Hourly Wage
