- Reviewing clients' menu selections to ensure compliance with prescribed diets, nutritional requirements, age considerations, cultural backgrounds, and religious practices.
- Creating and modifying menus based on client dietary prescriptions using established guidelines and resources.
- Collecting menu choices from clients through phone orders or in-person visits.
- Ensuring accurate transmission of meal orders to the appropriate preparation locations.
- Utilizing a computerized diet office system to process patient menu selections efficiently.
- Updating, monitoring, and following up on essential client information, including diet order changes, food allergies, preferences, and special requests.
- Generating and managing food service reports, such as meal census and food tally reports.
- Recording relevant client data like meal census and floor stock requests using logs or spreadsheets.
- Addressing client requests and complaints directly or forwarding them to the appropriate staff members.
- Collaborating with Food and Nutrition Services office staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Assisting with meal delivery services, including assembling patient trays, loading carts, and delivering meals to clients.
- Acting as a dietary resource for nursing and other healthcare staff, providing guidance on diet-related inquiries and issues.
- Resolving any problems related to patient trays and ensuring satisfaction.
