Job descriptionGENERAL REQUIREMENTSMinimum 3 years experience with purchasing & inventory managementExcellent organization skillsAttention to detailFamiliarity with Quickbooks Desktop and web-based applicationsKnowledge of wood species, profiles and gradesStrong math skills and ability to convert from SF - LF - BF for lumber and milled productsExperience with shipping volumes via LTL, FTLAbility to work in fast-paced work environmentGrace under pressurePositive attitudeShow consistent desire to learn the company’s products and proceduresRESPONSIBILITIESPurchasing of rough lumber, milled wood products and finishesPurchasing of sundry manufacturing and shipping suppliesPurchasing of supplies for samples departmentManagement of lumber inventory, milled wood products and finishes to ensure timely and accurate delivery of ordersManagement of supply chain - including maintaining relationships with existing vendors and seeking out and bringing on new vendorsProvide accurate lead times and pricing to team of Production Coordinators as neededGenerate accurate POs and communicate with vendors on production lead times and deliveryCoordinate freight for incoming materials or vendor-to-vendor shipmentsVerify receipts of incoming materials & vendor billing against PO to ensure accurate receipt & pricingDevelop & follow Quality Control procedures to ensure clear communication with vendors and accurate ordering of materialsWork with vendors to resolve any quality control and / or billing issues as neededCoordinate with COO on any price changes and / or ordering procedure changes to ensure desired margins are maintainedEnsure paper and electronic files are accurate and up to date for all ordersCoordinate lumber department to ensure accurate receiving, storage and inventory records
