APEX Placement and Consulting has partnered with an exciting company in McPherson, KS looking to add a Process Technician to their already amazing team. Their primary responsibility will be to make sure all process parameters and settings are implemented in line with the process setup sheets. Keep reading for more details!

  • What your day will look like :

    Perform all Setup Technician duties at a high level of efficiency while mentoring and training new employees.

    Coordinate production schedules and priorities in collaboration with supervisors, schedulers, and setup technicians.

    Ensure all machine safety mechanisms (e.g., drop bars, door switches) are fully operational before and during operation.

    Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and housekeeping standards.

    Verify that all machine process parameters align with master setup sheets.

    Start, stop, program, and optimize injection molding machines using decoupled molding techniques.

    Respond promptly to quality or operator concerns related to parts, processes, or equipment.

    Identify and troubleshoot issues involving machinery, materials, molds, or processes, and take immediate corrective actions to minimize downtime.

    Accurately document any process parameter changes on revised master setup sheets, change logs, check sheets, SPC charts, and related documentation.

    Diagnose, repair, and rebuild end-of-arm tooling, and program basic robotic functions as needed.

    Support continuous improvement initiatives by reducing production costs and improving scrap rates.

    Maximize machine uptime by proactively addressing issues to reduce and eliminate downtime.

    Lead efforts to reduce scrap by resolving common molding defects such as shorts, flash, burns, etc.

    Assist in training new Process Technicians, Machine Operators, and Setup Technicians as required.

    Competently use basic measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and pyrometers.

    Participate in job-specific training and actively support the training and development of team members.

    Ensure the correct materials are prepared and verified for injection molding operations.

    What we are looking for :

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in injection molding processing is preferred.
  • Collaborate with the production and process teams to plan and prioritize mold change schedules.

    Experience with cranes, slings, hoists, chains, and forklifts

    Can perform basic machine setup, including adjusting heats, pressures, speeds, timers, and clamp / core / ejector settings.
