Nuclear Medicine Tech Regular Full-Time (Days) Position Summary
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures utilizing radiopharmaceuticals and specialized imaging equipment. This role ensures the accurate acquisition of images and safe handling of radioactive materials in compliance with all applicable regulations. The technologist collaborates with physicians and the clinical team to deliver high-quality patient care and maintain radiation safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, measure, and administer radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Perform nuclear medicine imaging, including planar, SPECT, and PET studies, according to established protocols.
Operate and maintain imaging and radiation detection equipment, ensuring proper calibration and quality control.
Document all administered doses, procedures, and quality assurance activities accurately.
Observe and monitor patients during imaging procedures, ensuring comfort and safety.
Communicate findings and abnormal results promptly to supervising physicians.
Maintain compliance with all radiation safety, infection control, and patient confidentiality policies.
Participate in the on-call rotation to support after-hours imaging and emergency cases.
Qualifications (Legally Required)
Current and valid Nevada Nuclear Medicine Technologist license .
Current ARRT(N) or NMTCB certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology.
Current BLS (AHA) certification.
Minimum 2 years of recent experience in nuclear medicine within an acute care or hospital environment.
Shift Details
Regular full-time Day shift : 0630 1500 .
Includes 2 3 on-call days per week based on departmental rotation and patient volume.
