Radiation Therapist – Travel / Local Assignment\n\nLocal Rate : Candidates living within 80 miles of the facility. (Local rate is reduced by $8.00 / hour.)\n\nCertification Requirements\n\nRequired : \n\nBLS (AHA)\n\nARRT Certification as a Radiation Therapist\n\nNo additional specialty certifications required unless listed.\n\nDepartment Details\n\nEquipment : \n\n1 Varian TrueBeam Treatment Machine\n\n1 Philips CT Simulation Machine\n\nFloat Requirements : None\n\nAverage Treatments per Day : 20– 25\n\nEMR / PACS : \n\nEMR : Cerner\n\nOncology system : Aria\n\nJob Duties & Essential Functions\n\nDeliver radiation therapy treatment as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist with accuracy and safety.\n\nAssess and evaluate patients’ physical and psychological response to daily treatments and report changes promptly.\n\nIdentify and report equipment malfunctions to leadership and medical physics.\n\nPerform CT simulations as directed.\n\nCreate / fabricate immobilization devices for precise treatment delivery.\n\nMonitor normal tissue dose levels and notify the Radiation Oncologist if limits are approached.\n\nPlan treatment techniques using computer or manual dose calculations.\n\nCollaborate with Dosimetry, Medical Physicists, and Radiation Oncologists to verify treatment plans.\n\nDocument dose calculations in the therapy chart and verify accuracy.\n\nVerify and record charges for simulation and treatment procedures.\n\nAssist Medical Physicists and Radiation Safety Officers with QA, machine calibrations, and radiation safety.\n\nMaintain regular attendance and meet competency requirements.\n\nMaintain skills, knowledge, and abilities necessary for all role-specific functions.\n\nExperience Requirements\n\nMinimum : 2 years of experience as a Radiation Therapist.\n\nMust-have skills : Ability to deliver treatments, perform simulations, and use TrueBeam & Aria effectively.\n\nAdditional Department Notes\n\nRadiology Supervisor / Lead Tech on Shift : No, but a core team is available.\n\nRRAs Used : No\n\nRadiologist On-Site : Yes\n\nIV Starts Required : No\n\nShift & Scheduling\n\nSchedule : 0700–1700 (varied start times), 8-hour shifts\n\nSelf-scheduling / Block scheduling : Not mentioned – assume standard scheduling\n\nWeekends : None\n\nHolidays : None\n\nCall Requirements : No call or standby required\n\nOrientation\n\nOrientation : \n\n2 days NEO / modules / CBTs\n\n1 –2 days unit-specific orientation\n\nDress Code\n\nScrubs required – any color or design permitted\n\nScrubs not provided unless stated otherwise\n\nClinicians must clock in / out at the facility\n\nREQUIRED Submission Note\n\nMust note if clinician has ever worked for Marshfield.\n\nPrevious Marshfield employees must have an end date at least 6 months prior to submission.
