Location : Asheville, North Carolina (28801) – North Carolina nursing jobs

Facility : Mission Hospital Emergency Department (Level II Trauma Center)

Assignment Type : Travel Nursing – Emergency Room Registered Nurse

Start Date : October 20, 2025

End Date : January 19, 2026

Duration : 13-week contract

Shift : 12 Hour Days (6 : 45AM - 7 : 15PM)

Hours per Week : 36

Unit Size : 101 beds

Patient Ratios : 4 : 1 (medical), up to 7 : 1 (ED behavioral holds)

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1530 - $1640 per week

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state

Minimum 1 year of recent ER RN experience in an Emergency Room setting

Preferred : 2 years of nursing experience in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED

Required certifications : ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS

ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire

Strong teamwork mentality and ability to coach and provide real-time feedback

Flexibility to work in all areas of the Emergency Department

Commitment to positive patient experience and respectful behavior

Ability to work every other weekend; must meet department scheduling needs

Dress code : Navy scrubs

Emergency Room Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care in a fast-paced, high-volume ED

Assess, triage, and monitor patients using Baxter pumps and GE monitors

Document patient care in Cerner EMR system

Collaborate with techs, unit clerks, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams

Float within all sections of the Emergency Department as needed

Maintain accurate patient boards and provide ongoing communication to patients and families

Uphold AIDET principles and ensure a respectful, positive experience for every patient

Participate in department initiatives and contribute to a culture of excellence and teamwork
