The Pediatric Cardiology Intensive Care unit is a 29-bed Gold Beacon Award-winning unit that serves as the referral center for all major pediatric cardiac surgery in South Carolina. The unit was voted #4 in US News report and #1 in the nation for outcomes, maintaining an average daily census of 26 patients with a blend of cardiac surgical and medical diagnoses. The facility provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.
