Job description

$5,000 SIGN ON BONUS!!

Job Functions

When performing nursing support functions

  • Escorts patients to examination room and obtains vitals and documents in EMR
  • Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with clinic policies and scope of certification / licensure
  • Prepares equipment and assists providers during examination, testing and treatment of patients
  • Performs room turn over in patient rooms between cases and at the end of day
  • Assists in arranging referrals / prior authorizations as necessary
  • Assists with patient education
  • Performs other duties as assigned

If preforming Lab and / or X-ray functions :

  • Maintains stocked supplies and inventory
  • Sterilizes instruments, exam rooms and equipment
  • Performs testing procedures as required
  • Prepares procedure room / area and instructs patients
  • Troubleshoots and maintains equipment
  • Completes daily QA / QC procedures and provides maintenance / adjustments to equipment
  • Performs other duties as assigned

    • Job Requirements :

    Employment Requirements

    Minimum Education / Work Experience / License / Certifications

  • Graduation from Medical Assisting program or School of Practical Nursing
  • Current LPN Licensure or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) (LPNs / MAs will have 1 year to become certified in order to maintain employment)
  • Current CPR certification

    • Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to serve patients in a friendly and efficient manner
  • Knowledge of basic computer functions and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work autonomously and as a team
  • Capable of making independent decisions with the use of good critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Ability to respond appropriately to unpredictable situations and diverse patient populations
  • Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above

    • Knowledge / Skills / Abilities if performing X-ray functions :

  • Knowledge of x-ray safety for patients and personnel
  • Knowledge of proper patient positioning and state radiology regulations
  • Skill in performing quality control and maintaining records
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment and technique problems

    • Knowledge / Skills / Abilities if performing Lab functions

  • Ability to troubleshoot problems with lab testing, equipment, patient samples, and kits
  • Skill in performing quality control and maintaining records
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment and technique problems

    • Preferred Qualifications

  • EMR experience
