Join the Airborne Sensor RF Design Department as a dynamic Mechanical Engineer in McKinney, TX. We are seeking proactive individuals capable of performing mechanical design and documentation for electro-mechanical assemblies, engaging with suppliers across the U.S., and providing support to our manufacturing facility.
What You'll Do :
- Collaborate closely with program and functional leadership to achieve design and production objectives.
- Create detailed designs using PTC Creo Parametric or equivalent solid modeling software.
- Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles effectively in design documentation and fabrication.
- Work within a multidisciplinary team of engineers on various aspects of design, such as aerostructures, housing, electronics packaging, and thermal management.
- Regularly interact with the Integrated Program Team Lead, Program Management, Supply Chain, and external personnel.
- Engage in limited travel (up to 10%) to meet with suppliers and other Raytheon facilities.
Basic Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or a related field from an ABET-accredited university with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or an Advanced Degree with at least 3 years of experience.Proficiency in PTC Creo Parametric or related mechanical CAD tools.Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing principles.Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.Preferred Qualifications :
Familiarity with electro-mechanical assemblies and the interconnectedness of components.Experience in aerostructure and fastener design.Understanding of materials and fabrication methods.Application of statistical concepts in development and production processes.Ability to create and interpret mechanical fabrication and assembly drawings.Experience in production support and using basic measurement tools.Strong communication skills for drafting correspondence and delivering presentations.Able to work independently and as part of a team.Experience in the design and integration of mechanical products and assemblies.Proficient in GD&T and familiar with 3D tolerance analysis software.Analytical and problem-solving skills for effective teamwork.Knowledgeable about mechanical and electronic CAD design.Willingness to travel to North Texas sites and suppliers.Experience with Next Generation Jammer mid-band product is a plus.Why Join RTX?
