Job descriptionUT Health Athens is a 127-bed facility, including a 24-hour ED, designated as a Level IV trauma center and Level IV stroke center; advanced diagnostic technology; 10-bed ICU; maternity unit radiation therapy center; and a stand-alone ED in Gun Barrel City. Supervises staff by communicating, training and displaying the kind of work example others wish to follow which enables the office to function effectively and efficiently while communicating closely with the Clinic Manager. Performs clerical office duties including document processing, record keeping, report compilation of confidential patient data, and supply ordering in an organized and efficient manner to meet the appropriate needs of the office. Uses telecommunications and information systems to answer phone and greet customers politely and professionally and takes requests by phone or PC. Processes appropriately to ensure continuous work-flow. Assists in departmental communications by processing documents / mail as directed to keep staff informed. Performs other duties as assigned. High School diploma or GED Background in ICD9 and CPT coding and all insurance plan types (HMO, PPO, Managed Care, Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurances) Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Minimum 2-4 years supervisory experience ACLS Certification Completion of education to obtain licensure as a LVN or RN
