Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg night shift position requiring a current NM or compact RN license and recent hospital experience.

Responsibilities

Position is in a hospital medical-surgical unit with 32 beds

Night shifts are scheduled as 4x12 hours from 18 : 30 to 7 : 00

Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 6

Required to work 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week period

Floating is required to similar units within scope as needed

Block scheduling is considered on a case-by-case basis

Uses EPIC for documentation; EPIC experience preferred

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

No on-call requirements for this position

Nurses are provided a brief orientation and must complete required onsite modules during orientation

Scrub color is flexible but must be free of hospital logos

No travel pairs or groups are permitted

No more than 3 days of requested time off will be auto-approved, and no time off is allowed during the first week of orientation

Requirements

Valid NM or compact RN license required at the time of consideration

Minimum of 2 years recent Med / Surg nursing experience required

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification preferred

EPIC charting experience preferred

Former perm staff must have at least 1 year separation before returning as a traveler

Local candidates within 50 miles are not eligible
