Job Title : Quality Technician

Job Description

This position is initially presented as a 3-6 month contract role, with the possibility of permanent hire for outstanding performers. The role requires working from Tuesday to Friday, 8am-6pm, consisting of four 10-hour shifts. Candidates must have no food allergies, as they will handle nuts, dairy, and other allergen products. The primary responsibility is to conduct standardized tests on intermediate and finished food products, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations concerning size, color, and flavor.

Responsibilities

• Conduct standardized tests on food products to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
• Perform flavor analysis, which may involve tasting products with allergens such as wheat, milk, soy, egg, peanut, tree nut, and sesame.
• Check metal detectors for proper operation and report any malfunctions.
• Gather retention, microbiological, and control samples from raw materials and finished products.
• Prepare microbiological sample composites and coordinate with the laboratory for pickup.
• Examine and approve product labels prior to printing.
• Place products on hold and assist with investigations as needed.
• Complete daily paperwork as assigned.
• Comply with all safety and sanitation regulations, including SQF code, Plant programs, HACCP, GMP’s, and policies.
• Enforce and report deficiencies when appropriate.
• Analyze quality data, identify problem areas, and assist in resolving manufacturing processes or methods that affect quality.
• Participate in cross-functional teams to address and resolve quality problems and ensure continuous improvement of processes and methods.
• Obtain environmental samples.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of New Berlin, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00 / hr.
