Responsibilities Work in a hospital setting with Level 1 Trauma and teaching designation Med / Surg Tele units with 20-36 beds per unit and centralized telemetry monitoring Patient ratios for RNs range from 1 : 4-6 Care for adult med / surg and telemetry patients with common diagnoses requiring trach care, chest tube management, and insulin or heparin drips 12-hour night shifts from 7 : 00 PM to 7 : 00 AM Weekend shifts and rotation required Must work select holidays : either 11 / 27 or 11 / 28, 12 / 24 or 12 / 25, and 12 / 31 or 1 / 1 Required to float to all med / surg and telemetry units as needed EMR system is Epic; Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis med dispensing used Duties include patient assessments, medication administration, telemetry monitoring, and responding to changes in patient conditions Expect to work in a busy, team-oriented environment with support from CNAs, charge nurses, a PICC team, 24 / 7 RT, hospitalist, and intensivist staff Orientation includes one day of facility orientation and two days in the department Scrub color for RNs is navy Free parking is available on campus with optional paid parking decks Requirements Active GA or compact state RN license required Minimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg Tele RN experience required Current BLS required ACLS preferred; must pass EKG competency exam during onboarding Proven skills in trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, and glucometer use Experience with insulin and heparin drips required First-time travelers will be considered Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-631681.
