Position Summary :

We are seeking a postdoctoral research associate to work on problems in the intersection of inverse problems, analysis, and computational mathematics. The position is initially for one year, with the option to renew for 1-2 additional years, subject to satisfactory performance. The start date is negotiable, preferably Fall 2025. The successful candidate will work on the ONR Project "Optimal Transport-based Strategies in Waves and Dynamics" led by Prof. Christina Frederick at NJIT.

Essential Functions :

• The project will harness and advance the power of optimal transport theory to capture the intrinsic characteristics of complex physical processes arising in a wide range of important scientific applications, e.g., ocean electromagnetics, inverse scattering, time series modeling.
• The postdoctoral associate will integrate and develop optimal transport theories and computational methods for the forward and inverse modeling in these applications.

Salary Information :

In compliance with the NJ Pay Transparency Law, the negotiated starting annual salary for this position is $70,000 (USD). NJIT considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education / training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses or other items.
