Summary

Accounting Manager

Advantage Solutions is seeking an Accounting Manager to join our dynamic and growing accounting team. This role reports to the Assistant Controller and is focused on the operational execution of the month-end close. The Accounting Manager will be a hands-on contributor to prepare and review journal entries, reconcile accounts, and ensure timely and accurate close processes.

The Company services a variety of trade channels including grocery, mass merchandise, specialty, convenience, drug, dollar, club, hardware, consumer electronics and home centers. We bridge the gap between manufacturers and retailers, providing consumers access to the best products available in the marketplace today.

Responsibilities

Execute and oversee monthly close activities to ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness

Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and support schedules across multiple business units

Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, SOX 404, and internal control requirements

Partner with Shared Services, FP&A, Tax, and Treasury to resolve issues, validate balances, and ensure alignment of financial results

Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, responding to requests, and maintaining proper documentation

Identify and implement process improvements, with a focus on standardization and automation to drive efficiency

Participate in special projects, including system enhancements, process redesign, and finance transformation initiatives

Qualifications

Education Requirements : Bachelor's degree (Accounting; CPA strongly preferred)

Experience Requirements : 4-6 years experience in relevant field (Process Improvement experience preferred)

Travel requirement : Some travel expected

Supervisor Responsibility

Direct Reports : Hires, retains, trains, coaches, guides, directs, and develops direct reports using company-wide processes, tools and resources

Indirect Reports : May delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports

Required Knowledge and Skills

Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and month-end close processes

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems preferred

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Environmental & Physical Requirements

Office / Sedentary Requirements : Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically, requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may require the ability to lift up to 10lbs.
