Youth Development Professional - Middle School
Part-Time | Boys & Girls Clubs of Skagit County
Inspire Growth. Build Confidence. Lead with Purpose.
We're looking for a Youth Development Professional to join our team and support middle school youth in discovering their strengths and building their futures. This role is perfect for someone who brings structure, creativity, and care to every interaction and believes middle schoolers deserve positive role models who consistently show up.
Applicants must be at least 21 years old to qualify.
What the Role Involves
As a Youth Development Professional, you'll create and lead engaging, age-appropriate programming that supports academic success, character development, and healthy lifestyles. You will build relationships with students while guiding them through activities that challenge their thinking and support their growth. Whether you're facilitating a hands-on STEM project, leading a creative arts session, or encouraging thoughtful group discussions, your presence will be a steady and positive influence.
Your role involves managing daily program routines, helping students develop interpersonal skills, and providing individualized support as needed. You will help maintain a safe, inclusive environment where all youth feel welcome and empowered.
Licensed Program Readiness
While this position is not a licensed childcare role, all Youth Development Professionals must meet Washington State requirements to be eligible to support at a licensed Club site when needed. Don't worry-we'll guide you through the process and provide training and support before you begin.
Who We're Looking For
We are seeking someone who genuinely enjoys working with middle school youth and understands the importance of consistency, encouragement, and a fun atmosphere. Strong communication skills, the ability to stay positive in a busy environment, and a collaborative mindset are key. Previous experience with youth is helpful but not required-we provide training and mentoring to help you succeed.
Why Work With Us
This part-time role includes Paid Time Off, an Employee Assistance Program, and opportunities for growth through ongoing professional development. More importantly, it's a chance to make a daily impact in the lives of young people while being part of a team that values respect, community, acceptance, integrity, and fun.
How to Apply
If you're ready to help middle schoolers grow into their best selves, apply today on our website. We look forward to meeting you.
