We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Kalamazoo, Michigan. In this role, you will manage essential accounting tasks while ensuring accuracy across financial records and reports. The ideal candidate will have experience in corporate tax, property management accounting, and financial statement preparation.

Responsibilities :

• Prepare corporate tax returns and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
• Handle sales tax filings and maintain accurate records for multiple entities.
• Record and reconcile journal entries to maintain the integrity of the general ledger.
• Oversee financial statement preparation, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Manage accounting operations for property management, including tracking expenses and revenues.
• Analyze financial data across multiple entities to support strategic decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and practices in all financial activities.
• Collaborate with internal teams to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
• Conduct regular audits to verify the accuracy of financial records.
• Assist with special accounting projects as needed to support organizational goals.
• Proven experience in corporate tax and sales tax preparation.
• Proficiency in managing complex financial statements and accounting for multiple entities.
• Strong knowledge of journal entries and general ledger maintenance.
• Familiarity with property management accounting processes.
• Ability to work accurately and efficiently under deadlines.
• Excellent analytical skills with a focus on financial data interpretation.
• Effective communication skills for collaboration with internal teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
