Job Description : This position is part of the Counseling & Instruction / Student Development Division (general, career, transfer, disabilities, instruction).

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, guidance counseling, educational counseling, social work, career development, marriage and family therapy or marriage, family and child counseling
  • OR the equivalent. Equivalent qualifications may include related education, training, employment and professional experience that would be equal to the required degree(s) and experience in this field as determined by the District Equivalency Committee.
  • Commitment to diversity. All applicants must have demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty and staff. The applicant must be able to demonstrate how these factors relate to the need for equity minded practices within the classroom.
  • (NOTE : A bachelor's degree in one of the listed degrees and a license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) is an alternative qualification for this discipline.)

Desirable Qualifications : Demonstrated success in helping students from historically underrepresented and / or marginalized groups, nontraditional students, speakers of other languages, and students with learning disabilities.
