Security Guard Shift Supervisor

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. The Department of the Army Security Guard (DASG) Shift Supervisor serves at one of the two Military Ocean Terminals (MOT) in the United States. Guards at these locations must be trained in a variety of security competencies.

Responsibilities include :

• Using a variety of state-of-the-art physical security equipment to protect MOT national security assets from all threats.
• Participating in antiterrorism committees and fusion cells to protect critical resources.
• Serving as the DASG Shift Supervisor for subordinate Security Guards and Lead Security Guards.
• Directing work for subordinate personnel to prevent or control threats, sabotage, hostage-taking, or other criminal activities.
• Conducting inspections of posts and vehicles in all areas to ensure full compliance with security and safety measures.
• Distributing and balancing workload among employees to maintain workflow.
• Performing waterside security patrols of U.S. Military and foreign ships at berth to prevent unauthorized entry.
• Conducting on-the-job training for employees in accordance with established policies and practices.
• Performing administrative actions such as writing reports and completing forms to document incidents.
