Pathology Laboratory Assistant II

Part Time 20 hours

The schedule is daytime with flexibility-4 hours per day, Monday through Friday, starting at 10 a.m. or later.

Performs a variety of clerical and technical duties under general supervision. Reports to a Laboratory Supervisor. Responsibilities include receipt, accessioning, centrifugation and decanting of patient specimens, and communicating with clinicians at the Front Window and over the phone.

Essential Functions :

Assist with labeling, preservation and fixation of specimens.

• Work closely with technologists to ensure specimens are processed timely and accurately.
• Monitor reagent and supply inventory.
• Organize patient specimen and assay worksheets / printouts for testing and technologist review.
• Use LIMS to upload documents and input critical data or comments.
• Clean and maintain lab equipment.

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Previous laboratory, healthcare and / or customer service experience 1-2 years required
