Position Summary :

The responsibilities of a Grounds Keeper involve gardening and maintenance activities

such as planting, weeding, and pruning. In addition, they will need to use gas-powered

equipment : mowers, tillers, blowers, etc. Employees work alongside Garden Curators and

Grounds Sta

Gardening and maintenance experience

Physical Demands :

• Working outside during adverse weather conditions.
• Strenuous physical activity including but not limited to mulching, weeding, raking, digging, and planting.

Duties / Responsibilities :

• Work and manage daily garden and ground tasks assigned by curators and ground staff.
• Lead part-time students, temporary workers, and volunteers in daily garden and
• ground tasks.

Duties / Responsibilities :

• Assist with necessary maintenance of Garden facilities
• Assist curators and grounds foremen with irrigation set-up and repairs
• Maintain Garden and Grounds equipment and tools by keeping them clean, sharp,
• and ready for use
• Ensure signs, tributes, and trail markers are distributed, clean, and properly placed
