Licensed Practical Nurse (Houston)

Hours : Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, no weekends and no holidays

The vocational nurse provides nursing care to patients in a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery clinic. The LVN applies clinical nursing knowledge and utilizes demonstrated skills to ensure the safety and comfort of patients and families according to legal, organizational and professional standards. The LVN identifies priorities and makes judgments concerning the basic needs of multiple patients to organize care

Must have qualifications / experience : 4+ years in an ambulatory surgical (Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Wound Care or General Surgery) clinical area.

What skills / attributes are nice to have, and will set a candidate apart? Experience in a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Wound Care or General Surgery clinic.

Type of certification required :

• Graduate from an approved vocational nursing program
• Current and valid Texas LVN license
• BLS through the AHA
• 6+ months in a clinical area
• Demonstrated ability to use equipment and related supplies for selected patient population for the assigned clinical area. Computer experience
